The landscape units are territory portions, which combine specific landscape components of environmental, cultural, perceptual and symbolic nature as well as easily recognizable dynamics that confer them their own idiosyncrasy, different from the rest of the territory.

The ten landscape viewpoints of the Alt Empordà are aimed at making known each of the 7 landscape units in the region as well as its natural, cultural and social elements.
